As the daughter of a preacher and a teacher, I believe that life is learning. In college I earned my bachelor's degree at SUNY Buffalo studying philosophy and political science. In 2004-05 I lived in South Korea teaching English. That's where I fell in love with teaching. I came to Chicago to study religious philosophy and earned a master's degree in divinity from the University of Chicago's Divinity School. But my real love was still teaching and learning and so I entered the University of Chicago's Urban Teacher Education Program and graduated with a Master of Arts in teaching. I am thrilled to be teaching Kindergarten at Legacy. As a lifelong learner, I believe that my job is to teach children to love and know themselves as learners, to love and know the world, and to be authors of love and learning in it.

Monmouth College - BA, Elementary Education
I graduated from Monmouth College with a Bachelor of Arts in elementary education and a minor in learning disabilities. I have been a classroom teacher for over five years. I have always loved children and wanted to do my part to make a difference in a young child's life. I believe school is a place where children should be happy and have fun while learning. I am excited and eager to continue growing as a teacher here at Legacy Charter School!

St. Augustine College/ Kendall College - AA, Early Childhood
I have worked with children ages six weeks to 12 years in daycare settings, youth centers, and charter schools. I was previously a head teacher in a daycare setting for two years. I resigned to further my education and joined Legacy. I enjoy working with children of all ages as well as families. I firmly believe that "children are our future," so what they are taught and how they are taught matters.
